Delphi Plugins On Demand ( DPOD ) Framework.
Have you ever wanted: - to develop a very scalable Delphi application using BPLs?
- to add new BPLs to existing software while system in use.
- to add new functionality (or new plugin) to an existing software by sending the BPL to your clients and let them install it easily?
- to hock a new PBL to a new menu in your software and synchronize it with other existing BPLs and assign it an image, caption and other bahaviors.
- your application to be able to use any SQL-based database without changing 1 line of code in your application?
- to access Queries and Stored Procedures without the need to add ADO, DBISam, or any DB components to your BPLs; generic database access.
- to access methods from any dynamic BPL easily.
- to fix code in a BPs without affecting the whole system.
- to have a system with hundreds or thousands of BPLS and only load BPL on demand.
- much more....
DPOD allows you to do that. Form more information on DPOD, Click on \Delphi Components Links\DPOD Framework. DPOD consists of a small set of programs, components and database system tables that allow you to develop very powerful, scalable Delphi applications; the SAP style. PluginLauncher.exe and PluginAdmin.exe are the only 2 executables in DPOD. When you first run PluginLauncher.exe, it contains zero plugins; an empty application. Then you can develop BPLs as needed and install them using PluginAdmin.exe. Plugins are independent of each others. Plugins do not know and do not care that you might add more plugins to the software. The following screen shot was build at run-time. This software has 65 plugins that all together make a very powerful EMR system. In order to use drivers for Access, SQL, Oracle, DBISam, ElevareDB and more. You need to tell the PluginManager to use the desired database BPL. No SQL or code changes needed AT ALL. Every line below points to a Plugin (BPL). For more information on DPOD, email us at

04/08/2009. I attended a user conference in Webster, NY for Tim Young of elevatedb. He discussed features of DBISAM, ELEVATEDB, ENTERPRISE ELEVATEDB. Very impressive you must check it out. 02/12/2009. I attended two user conferences hosted by Anders Ohlsson in Rochester, NY. The was a part of Embarcadero Delphi outreach in the US and Canada. Anders told us Embarcadero is committed to keep Delphi a robust tool and is considering Delphi users feed back. He showed us very nice and new features for Delphi 2009. I have played with this version for a little and I believe it is a must buy version for any Delphi developer. It is very fast and robust . Also, check out Embarcadero® All-Access™. It provides all the application development and database tools you need — when you need them — across all major platforms, frameworks, and programming languages ... |
